Abstract (English):
The article is devoted to a historical and legal analysis of the criminal procedural institution of exemption from criminal liability in connection with reconciliation with the victim in cases of public prosecution in Russia and the Republic of Tajikistan. The author analyzes the historical origins of this institution, coming to the conclusion that it represents a qualitatively new legal phenomenon.
