Abstract (English):
The sociology of law is one of the basic areas of legal research. Sociological methods make it possible to achieve results that cannot be achieved only by specially legal methods. Combining the methodological base leads to significant scientific results in conducting comprehensive research. Based on the results of five sociological studies conducted at different times and in different Russian regions, this article analyzes a number of problems that arise when making an illegal legally significant decision, in particular, the problem of the correlation between legality and expediency.
