This article discusses the issue of the national working time standard and its significance in Russian legal reality. The consolidation of the national working time standard in international, domestic and foreign labor law is shown. Attention is drawn to the need to introduce the category of national working time standard into scientific circulation. It is proposed to consolidate the national measure of working time (normal hours) as a national standard of working time. Inaccuracies have been identified in the rules on the rights and obligations of the employee and employer in the field of working time. In order to eliminate them, it is necessary to modernize certain working time standards.
