The issues of the use of the law enforcement segment of the “Safe City” hardware and software complex in solving crime control problems are considered, official statistical data indicating the effectiveness of the use of this complex are presented, problematic issues of the use of video surveillance systems in countering illegal acts are highlighted, proposals for their possible elimination are outlined.
