The article discusses the definition of the concept of “sovereignty”, and also reveals the relationship of the concepts of state sovereignty, sovereignty of the people, sovereignty of the nation, highlights the key features of sovereignty, defines both internal and external features of the measurement of state sovereignty. The analysis of the impact of globalization on the transformation of the sovereignty of various states is carried out. A qualitative characteristic of the actual manifestations of state sovereignty is also given. The article also draws attention to the positions of the Constitutional Court of the Russian Federation regarding the sovereignty of the Russian Federation. The article also draws attention to the problems of forming an optimal system of guarantees of state sovereignty of the Russian Federation, outlined in the National Security Strategy of the Russian Federation, approved by Presidential Decree no. 400 of July 2, 2021.
