The article reveals some results of the regulation of the banking system of the Russian Federation before the onset of the third wave of the epidemic. A comparative analysis of the state of the banking system of the Russian Federation in the period from 01.01.2020 to 01.05.2021 on eleven indicators was carried out, which allowed identifying a number of emerging trends in the Russian banking market. The peculiarity of the policy of the Bank of Russia during the pandemic crisis is shown, which consists in the rapid dissemination of regulatory instruments to both citizens and legal entities. A promising direction for further research may be the justification of the regulatory burden on banks during periods of epidemics.
